Our store began over forty years ago by Melba Walton, an entrepreneur who had a sincere passion for antique jewelry.  Today, Walton's Antique and Estate Jewelry has become a staple to the downtown Franklin community. Specializing in pre-1940's antique and estate pieces, Walton's maintains the foundation on which Melba created the store;  a place where all are welcome to share in the love and admiration for pieces of one of a kind jewelry.

1940 2.00 carat Old European cut diamond ring

24,000.00

From 1940, this gorgeous 2.00 carat Old European cut diamond is set in a classic 8 prong solitaire setting.  The diamond is a VS1 in clarity and an L/M in color.  The ring is a size 6.5 and can be resized one, two or three sizes larger or smaller.

This 2.00 carat Old European cut beauty was purchased in 1940, by Mrs. Barker in Liverpool, England. In the last photo, the ring is pictured with the original receipt in the original box with the original care card, addressed to Mrs. Barker.

During that time, Liverpool was in the thick of World War II. It was targeted by the Germans - and badly hit - because it was a port town. Although the heaviest bombings occurred during the later part of the year, as well as the following year, there is no telling what this ring, and Mrs. Barker endured.
