Victorian era 14k yellow gold pearl pendant/locket. On the western coast of Italy, Victorians discovered ancient Etruscan tombs (dating from 700 – 300 B.C.) containing beautiful, intricate jewelry made of rich yellow gold in a design that had never been seen before. For the Victorians, this was like they had just discovered King Tut’s Tomb! A frenzy for Etruscan-inspired jewelry ensued and this stunning, hand fabricated pendant would’ve been very fashionable and highly sought after during this time. Delicately ornamented with five dainty seed pearls, intricate filigree, and granulation, as well as a locket compartment, this piece has everything you could hope for in a Victorian Etruscan Revival pendant! This pendant measures approximately 1 7/8” wide and 2 3/4” long (including the bail). Chain sold separately.
