FAQ

Have a question? We’re here to help! If you don’t see your question below, please feel free to contact us.

General

Do you offer appraisals?

All purchases made at Walton's include a point-of-sale report which can be submitted to your insurer. Upon request, we also provide formal written appraisals done by our GIA Gemologists for items purchased from us.

Do you buy jewelry, gold, or silver?

Yes! We specialize in pre-1940s antique and estate jewelry, which is largely what we purchase for our inventory; however, we are happy to take a look at any jewelry items you have. We also purchase pieces for their gold, platinum, and diamond value. We purchase sterling silver flatware and hollowware (we do not purchase silver plated items or sterling jewelry).

We ask that you reach out to us via email about items you’d like to sell before coming by our showroom. Click here to learn more or send us information about items you’re interested in selling.

Do you only sell antique and estate jewelry?

We have a beautiful collection of antique and estate jewelry, new and classic pieces, and we offer custom design services! Our entire selection is shoppable right here on our website.

What do I do if I inherited jewelry?

We recommend meeting with our experts for an estate evaluation. One of our GIA Gemologists will sit down with you and go through your items to determine what is costume jewelry and what is fine jewelry. If you're interested in selling some of your pieces, we can also make offers on items we may be interested in purchasing. Our estate evaluations are $200 per hour and do not include any written documentation (you can take as many notes as you would like during the evaluation). Please contact us prior to scheduling an appointment.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept a variety of payment methods, including major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), PayPal, and Apple Pay.

At Walton's, we understand that big purchases should not break the bank. Click here to learn more about our three long-term payment options: Layaway, Affirm Financing, and Wells Fargo Special Financing.

Returns & Shipping

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy on all jewelry items. Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging. Returns are eligible for store credit or exchange only; we do not provide refunds. All sales are final after 30 days. After those 30 days, store credit or exchange will not be issued.

How do I initiate a return?

To initiate a return, please contact our team with your order details. They will guide you through the return process and provide you with instructions.

Can I sell my jewelry back to you?

We do not buy back jewelry. Our policy strickly adheres to a 30-day return period. During this time, you may return any item in its original condition for store credit or exchange. However, beyond this 30-day window, we do not offer exchanges or buy back any jewelry.

Where do you ship to?

We ship exclusively within the United States. Please note that we only delivery to residential or business addresses; we do not ship to PO boxes.

How do you ship jewelry purchased through your website?

We offer complimentary UPS Express Mail shipping on all online purchases. To ensure the security of your jewelry, all UPS deliveries require a signature upon receipt and are fully insured for the full retail value. Please make sure someone is present to sign for the package when it arrives.

Jewelry Repair

How much will it cost to resize my ring?

The cost of resizing a ring depends on various factors, including the type of metal, whether the ring needs to be made larger or smaller and by how many sizes, the width of the ring, and the number of stones set in it.

We are happy to examine your ring in our showroom and provide you with an exact price for resizing. Generally speaking, ring resizing starts around $100. For an accurate quote, please visit our showroom or contact our customer service team to schedule an appointment.

Can the ring be resized if I don't know the recipient's size?

Yes, the ring can be resized after purchase. We understand that finding the perfect ring size can be challenging, especially when it's a surprise. After the purchase, you can bring the ring to our showroom, and we will resize it to ensure a perfect fit.

Can you repair my jewelry while I wait?

We do not offer same-day repair services such as ring resizing, prong retipping, or resetting. We take great pride in the craftsmanship of our highly skilled jeweler and ensure quality control at every step of the process.

While we strive to accommodate ring resizing at the time of purchase as quickly as possible, other repair services require more time to ensure the highest quality results. If you need a repair, please contact our team to discuss the details and arrange for your jewelry to be expertly serviced.

Custom Jewelry

What types of jewelry can you custom make?

We specialize in creating a wide range of custom jewelry, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and more. Whether you're looking for a unique engagement ring, a personalized pendant, or a bespoke bracelet, our skilled team can bring your vision to life. Contact us to discuss your ideas and start the design process.

Can you replicate an antique piece of jewelry?

While we draw inspiration from antique and vintage designs for many of our custom pieces, we cannot reproduce an exact replica of any vintage or antique jewelry. This uniqueness often enhances the charm and individuality of the new piece. We can work with you to create a design that captures the essence and style of the original.

Can I use my own stones or metal in my custom piece?

Yes, we are delighted to offer stone setting and heirloom redesign for those who have their own materials. You can use your own stones, and we can incorporate them into your custom design. While we do buy gold and can apply its value to the cost of your finished piece, the gold we acquire from you will not be used in crafting your jewelry.

Can you help me source antique gems, lab-grown diamonds, or other stones?

Yes, we can assist you in sourcing a variety of stones, including antique gems, lab-grown diamonds, and other precious stones. With over 50 years in the industry, we've cultivated relationships with some of the best gem dealers in the country specializing in antique cut diamonds and colored gemstones.

Finding the right gemstone for your custom project is a big decision, which is why we always recommend a complimentary consultation with one of our GIA-accredited professionals. Books yours today!

How much will my custom jewelry cost? How much is the deposit?

All custom pieces start at $2,000, with a detailed quote provided alongside your design presentation. The required deposit to begin creating your custom jewelry is typically 50% of the total cost, depending on design elements and any additional needs such as stone sourcing.

How long will it take for me to receive my custom piece?

The timeline for receiving your custom jewelry varies based on the complexity of the project. Simple repairs and settings may take as little as 7-10 business days to complete, while more complex redesigns and custom projects typically take 8-12 weeks. You will be advised of our estimated timeline during your complimentary consultation.
