At Walton's, custom design means creating a piece that's entirely yours, built around your story, your style, and the people you love. Whether you're reimagining a family heirloom, designing an engagement ring, or bringing a piece you've always pictured to life, our team works closely with you from the first conversation through the final polish.
With three generations of experience in fine jewelry, we bring a depth of knowledge that goes beyond design software. Everything we craft is made with a lifetime in mind, blending modern design practices with classical fabrication techniques. Our skilled artisans work with care and precision, transforming raw materials into timeless pieces that are built to reflect your style.
The Design Process
The Consultation
Every custom piece starts with a conversation. We'll talk through your vision, budget, and timeline, along with any stones or materials you'd like to incorporate. If you're working with a family heirloom or a piece with sentimental history, we'll talk through how to honor that while creating something new. And if you don't already have a diamond or gemstone in mind, we can source one for you, drawing on our experience and industry relationships to find a stone that fits your vision and budget.
This meeting is also where we get to know your style and what this piece means to you, so we can begin developing a design suited to you from the very start.
Consultations may take place in-person or virtually and can be booked below.
Details That Last a Lifetime
We've always been inspired by the artisans who came before us. It's the smallest details that make a piece truly exceptional, and every curve, setting, and hand-finished touch is a nod to the craftsmanship we treasure in the antique jewelry that passes through Walton's. Our custom design process is no exception: crafted with intention, made to last, and built to tell a story for generations to come.

Contact us to discuss your ideas and start the design process.
Can you replicate an antique piece of jewelry?
While we draw inspiration from antique and vintage designs for many of our custom pieces, we cannot reproduce an exact replica of any vintage or antique jewelry. This uniqueness often enhances the charm and individuality of the new piece. We can work with you to create a design that captures the essence and style of the original.
Can I use my own stones or metal in my custom piece?
Yes, we are delighted to offer stone setting and heirloom redesign for those who have their own materials. You can use your own stones, and we can incorporate them into your custom design. While we do buy gold and can apply its value to the cost of your finished piece, the gold we acquire from you will not be used in crafting your jewelry.
Can you help me source gems, lab-grown diamonds, or other stones?
Yes, we can assist you in sourcing a variety of stones, including antique gems, lab-grown diamonds, and other precious stones. With over 50 years in the industry, we've cultivated relationships with some of the best gem dealers in the country specializing in antique cut diamonds and colored gemstones.
Finding the right gemstone for your custom project is a big decision, which is why we always recommend a complimentary consultation with one of our GIA-accredited professionals. Books yours today!
How much will my custom jewelry cost? How much is the deposit?
All custom pieces start at $2,000, with a detailed quote provided alongside your design presentation. The required deposit to begin creating your custom jewelry is typically 50% of the total cost, depending on design elements and any additional needs such as stone sourcing.
How long will it take for me to receive my custom piece?
The timeline for receiving your custom jewelry varies based on the complexity of the project. Simple repairs and settings may take as little as 7-10 business days to complete, while more complex redesigns and custom projects typically take 8-12 weeks. You will be advised of our estimated timeline during your complimentary consultation.
