Episode 11: The everlasting charm of antique engagement rings with Julie Walton Garland
Estate jewelry expert Julie Walton from Walton’s discusses the most appealing vintage styles for brides-to-be.
In the 11th episode of The Jewelry Connoisseur podcast by Rapaport, Julie Walton Garland, 3rd generation at Walton’s Antique & Estate Jewelry, talks to Rapaport Editor in Chief Sonia Esther Soltani about the beauty of antique engagement rings and how Walton’s Jewelry connects with their clients to find their dream jewelry.
Julie, who has a wealth of knowledge about antique jewelry, with an emphasis on jewels from the Art Deco era, discusses the continued popularity of diamond rings from the 1920s.
“Sourcing beautiful antique rings is always our top priority, so we’re fortunate to have great relationships with antique dealers from around the world.”
Julie also shares the story behind a special piece given to her by her late grandmother, Melba Walton, who opened Walton’s Jewelry in 1974 and had a sincere passion for antique jewelry.
Looking towards the future, Julie foresees growth in a larger online presence at Walton’s. In her words, “2020 has definitely thrown a curveball, but we’ve been very fortunate this year. Our online store really set us up for the future.”
Walton’s Jewelry is seeing a strong increase in customers turning towards shopping online before coming into the showroom to try on engagement rings. Julie anticipates offering more one-on-one customer experiences for those shopping online in 2021.
